Google – the empire grows

// April 2nd, 2005 // All

After successes with a host of products from Gmail to Orkut, google has decided to launch itself into a rather unexpected line of bussiness- beverages.
If google’s renowned attention to detail is anything to go by, then these red-bullesque energy drinks called ‘google gulp’ will be something to look out for.
I have a feeling Google is going to be out for [another] rough ride with internet privacy advocates.

Google Gulp and Your Privacy
From time to time, in order to improve Google Gulp’s usefulness for our users, Google Gulp will send packets of data related to your usage of this product from a wireless transmitter embedded in the base of your Google Gulp bottle to the GulpPlex™

Is it just me, or does Google just not seem to understand the idea of untagged, cookie free consumption in private. Although having said that, if you can live with adsense working on you email- would you care if your your consumption of carbonated sport drinks was monitored by big brother google?

Google Gulp the energy tonic from Google
Update: I asked a developer friend who works for google UK about these and he says he’s tried Glutamate Grape , and its “mind bogglingly amazing”. cool.
